Parental controls in the Nokia WiFi app
We understand that protecting your children’s online safety is a priority. The Nokia WiFi app’s robust family profile features allow you to restrict internet access for specific devices at specific times, block websites, and create internet “bedtimes.”
This guide will walk you through setting up and managing these powerful parental control tools.
Family profiles
Family profiles allow you to group devices and apply customised internet access restrictions. For example, you can create a profile for your children’s devices and enforce time limits, block inappropriate websites, or schedule internet-free periods.

- Tap “Profiles” at the bottom navigation on the home screen.
- Create a new profile:

- Name and assign devices:
- Give the profile a descriptive name (e.g., “Kids’ devices”).
- Select the devices you want to include in the profile.
Note: devices can only belong to one profile at a time; all unassigned devices default to the “Home” profile.

Important notes:
- Family profiles require a Nokia WiFi account or local admin access.
- The default admin password is on the Beacon sticker; change it in the web GUI (Maintenance/Password).
- Family profiles are not available in bridge mode.
- Up to 64 profiles can be created, with up to 254 devices per profile.
Tips for effective parental controls:
- Communicate with your children about online safety.
- Set realistic time limits and schedules.
- Regularly review and adjust settings as needed.
- Use website blocking to restrict access to inappropriate content.
