What is an ATA?
An Analogue Telephone Adapter (ATA) is a device that bridges the gap between your traditional analogue phone and your internet connection. It allows you to use your existing landline phone to make and receive calls over your Airband Talk plan.
How does an ATA work?
When you receive a call, the ATA converts the digital signal from your internet connection into an analogue signal that your phone can understand. When you make a call, the ATA converts the analogue signal from your phone into a digital signal that can be transmitted over the internet.
Can I use my existing handset?
One of the benefits of using an ATA is that you can use your existing handset. You can even keep your existing number if requested. ATAs are compatible with most analogue landline phones. If you already have a VoIP phone with another provider, that wouldn’t work with an ATA.
