How to set up your ATA device?
This guide explains how to set up your Analogue Telephone Adapter (ATA). For more information on what an ATA is, visit our “what is an ATA” article.
If you choose to add an ATA device to your Airband Talk order, we’ll provide you with a Cisco ATA 191 adapter.

It’s simple to set-up and will already arrive configured so all you need to do is plug it in and it’ll be good to go!
Once you receive your adapter, follow these steps:
- Make sure you have the following:
- The landline phone you want to connect to your ATA
- Phone cable (RJ11 cable)
- Unbox the adaptor which will come with the following:
- Cisco ATA 191 telephone adapter (small black square box)
- Ethernet cable
- Power cable
- Connect your ethernet cable to the “Network” port on your ATA, and the other end of the cable to the LAN port on your Airband router.
- Connect your phone cable to the “Phone 1” port on your ATA.
- Plug your ATA power cable into the “Power” port on your ATA and plug the cable into a wall socket, making sure the socket is turned on.

Your ATA can be plugged in anywhere in the house, as long as it is connected to your Airband router.
