We’re delighted to announce that Airband has been shortlisted for the Connected Communities category at the 2025 World Communication Awards.

The nomination recognises our mission to bridge the digital divide and bring superfast broadband to rural and hard-to-reach areas across England and Wales. Through our innovative use of next generation Fixed Wireless Access (ngFWA) technologies, Airband is delivering UK-first speeds of up to 400 Mb/s, transforming connectivity for homes, businesses and community hubs that were once left behind.
In partnership with Terrana, we’ve evolved our wireless network to connect even the most challenging locations — from medieval villages to forested valleys — offering a lifeline to rural communities and local enterprises. Our commitment to accessible, high-speed broadband has already reached 315,000 premises, supported by a 28% increase in wireless sales and free upgrades for community spaces across the country.
Being recognised by the World Communication Awards is a testament to the passion and innovation of the Airband team as we continue to deliver on our promise of connecting the unconnected.
