Airband wins global award for connecting communities at World Communication Awards 2025

Airband are ecstatic to have won at last night’s World Communication Awards 2025 for its work in connecting country communities with industry leading gigabit Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) broadband. The London ceremony saw Airband celebrated alongside brands from across the world.

Now in its 27^th year, the World Communications Award recognise global telecom excellence and brings the world’s best-known names together in an annual event. As a business which is connectivity first, Airband was recognised for its approach to innovation in communities based on its understanding that there is a need for alternative connection solutions in remote and rural areas and pioneering gigabit capable FWA solutions.

The last 18 months have seen Airband focus on the need for alternative technologies in those rural areas which are ‘fibre black holes.’ The business tested, adopted and rolled out the latest in gigabit Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) technologies, creating a series of next generation products which have revolutionised access in areas where fibre isn’t an option.
