- The app will tell you when the beacon is ready and the light on the beacon will turn blue-green.
- In the app, create an account to access your network remotely.
Your first beacon is ready to use!
Connecting to WiFi
You’ll find your WiFi details (network name and password) printed on a label on the back or underside of your router.
To connect to your network:
- Open WiFi network settings on your device.
- Select the WiFi network name (SSID) from the list.
- Enter the password exactly as shown on the router (it’s case-sensitive).
How to set up additional beacons
For larger homes or homes with multiple stories, thicker walls, or unusual layouts, you may want to set up an additional beacon for corner-to-corner coverage.
- First, open the Nokia WiFi mobile app. Click “Network” and then the plus sign.
- The app will help you identify your beacon’s best position and test the signal in the new location to ensure you have the best connection.
- With your second beacon in place, scan the QR code underneath it and plug it in. It will then connect to your first beacon and reconfirm it has a good connection. You can always reposition the beacon if needed.
- Finally, you can name your beacon: for example, the room the beacon is in.
You can even set up a third beacon to extend the coverage further if needed.
An alternative way to set up additional beacons
- First, click “Connect with Ethernet” and select your beacon type from the list.
- Plug your beacon into power and connect its WAN port to the LAN port of your first beacon with an ethernet cable.
- Once its LED light turns blue-green, you can disconnect the new beacon from the first and power it off. Then, you can place it in the room you want to use it.
- Power it on, and when it’s up and running, the blue-green LED light will once again appear.
That’s it! you have a complete WiFi network.
